About Aceitunas Rumarín

Aceitunas Rumarín is a family business that, for decades, has been dedicated to the production of table olives and olive oil. Today, the Rubio Marín brothers, the third generation of the family, continue to lead the company in Mairena del Alcor (Seville), a place where olive groves are part of the local history and identity.

Before 1939

The dedication of the Rubio Marín family dates back to before 1939, at the Los Graneros Estate (Carmona). Isaías Marín, grandfather of the Rubio Marín brothers, had at this location a small table olive factory, an olive oil mill with a stone grinder powered by animals, and a capacho press with a wooden beam.

1960

José Rubio Vélez, father of the Rubio Marín brothers, began his activity in table olives in parallel in front of the emblematic Castle of Luna, in Mairena del Alcor. Five years later, he acquired an orchard on the outskirts of the town, where he continued his olive seasoning activity. In this same location, wooden barrels were also built in which the product fermented.

1975

In 1975, Aceitunas Rumarín was founded. During this new stage, the company carried out manual stuffing and exported its products in wooden barrels and traditional packaging. It was during these years that commercial relationships abroad began, including exports to the United States.

1993

Since 1993, together with the move to new facilities, the management and direction of the company has been taken over by its current owners, the founder’s grandchildren. Both brothers have continued to invest, innovate, and adapt production processes to current regulations, while maintaining the traditional flavor of their products and the family character of the company. This has made it possible to increase production capacity, achieving an average annual olive production of 5,000 tons. In this regard, 20% of the total olive production is grown by the company itself.

2008

Olive oil production resumed in 2008 with the creation of an olive oil mill equipped with the latest technology and a daily milling capacity of up to 400,000 kg.
